How to get to Hotel Sovestro
By car
Hotel Sovestro near San Gimignano is easy to reach by car from any direction. From the Poggibonsi/San Gimignano motorway exit, it’s about a 10-minute drive. We offer large, free, video-monitored private parking, with a dedicated area for motorbikes and EV charging points.
On foot from San Gimignano
Via Vecchia, the old dirt road leading into town, starts just 30 metres from the hotel. A beautiful, scenic 20-minute walk through the countryside, with views over San Gimignano along the way.
With our free shuttle
You can use our free shuttle connecting Hotel Sovestro to the historic centre at set times. That way, you won’t have to worry about parking at all.
From Siena and Florence
Hotel Sovestro is the ideal base for exploring Tuscany. Siena is about an hour away by car, Florence just a little further, and the Chianti countryside is right around the corner. A hotel in the Tuscan countryside, perfectly placed for anyone who wants to see plenty without giving up on relaxation.
Getting to Hotel Sovestro from Florence
By car, Hotel Sovestro is about an hour from Florence, along scenic roads through the Tuscan countryside. There’s no direct train to San Gimignano: the nearest station is in Poggibonsi, reached by train from Florence (sometimes with a change in Empoli), followed by a short local bus (line 130) into San Gimignano. If you prefer public transport, allow at least an hour and a half each way.
Getting to Hotel Sovestro from Pisa
Driving is by far the easiest way to reach us from Pisa, taking around an hour and 15 minutes through the Tuscan countryside. Public transport is possible but not very direct: it involves a train to Empoli, a connection to Poggibonsi, and then a local bus into San Gimignano, so we’d recommend renting a car if you’re coming from Pisa.
Getting to Hotel Sovestro from Siena
Siena is the closest of Tuscany’s main cities to Hotel Sovestro, just around 40 minutes by car. A direct bus service also connects Siena to San Gimignano in about an hour, making it an easy day trip or a convenient way to reach us without a car.
